Unless you’ve been under a rock for the past 24 to 48hrs,  you’ve enjoyed reading the experiences attached to this hashtag by black women across the nation.

Brittany Packnett, Activist and VP for Teach For America is who we have to thank for this 1 million black women marching across twitter!

Check out just a few of the tweets below.

These tweets spoke to me because I now know that I’m not the only black woman at work dealing with the b.s.!  It’s tough being the only drop of chocolate in a cup of milk.  Especially if you are in a position of power, you have to look “approachable”, by softening your voice & smiling like a Cheshire cat.

It becomes tiring and we just want to be our heavy voiced, natural hair wearing, curvaceous, intellectual, articulate selves without being told were “too black” by telling us to tone it down.  We will not tone it down!  We are black and we’re not going back!  We are loud & proud!  So get over yourselves, pay us our worth & watch us take your company to the top!

Big city country girl! Lover of life, happiness, and fashion. Respecter of one's character not one's title. Respect is given when it is received. I don't have a problem saying NO! I know my purpose and I'm standing and living my truth. I only speak when spoken to and I only answer when asked!
